Ever wonder what is in the flavorings you can get in your coffee at Dunkin Donuts?
INGREDIENTS: Brewed Coffee, French Vanilla Flavorshot [Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Natural & Artificial Flavors, Caramel Color].
HIGHLIGHTS: Ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are clear liquids used in antifreeze and deicing solutions. Exposure to large amounts of ethylene glycol can damage the kidneys, heart, and nervous system. Propylene glycol is generally regarded as safe for use in food.
Safe according to whom????

ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are completely different substances. the one you have to worry about is the former which is used in antifreeze. it’s worrisome as it has a sweet flavor, so there is danger of accidental consumption by children and animals - the sweetness only encourages them to continue ingesting. propylene glycol is found in all sorts of foodstuffs, and other every day items such as makeup and medicines. antifreeze can also be manufactured with p/g but it’s non-toxic, if that hints at anything. while it’s probably not the best thing to be ingesting or adding on a whim to food, unless you’re drinking p/g i wouldn’t worry too much.
